Sony Digital Cinema Confirms First Independent Cinema Partnership in Europe
Sony Digital Cinema and Everyman Cinemas, the boutique chain of independent cinemas which offer a premium service to customers, today announced they have signed a Virtual Print Fee (VPF) agreement, making Everyman Cinemas the first independent cinema chain to sign a deal of its kind in Europe.
Everyman Cinemas is one of the UK’s oldest independent cinema circuits, having opened its first theatre in Hampstead in London in 1933. Its venues offer a unique experience to customers - from its excellent customer service to its premium snacks and stylish lounge areas - customers are able to enjoy a truly unique and memorable cinema experience. Everyman also offers a wide range of alternative content across its eight UK multiplexes, including opera, sport, theatre and comedy, and, as a result of the new VPF agreement, it can now ensure all showings are viewed in the highest Sony 4K Digital Cinema technology.
Sony Digital Cinema 4K technology allows consumers to experience exceptional picture quality from every seat in the cinema, providing spectacular detail and world-leading 3D images even on the largest screens. Transforming the film experience, Sony 4K technology gives the consumer an immersive, engaging visual experience you simply can't get at home.
The desire to provide viewers with the best experience possible and to be at the forefront of cinematic innovation was the motivation behind Everyman Cinemas’ choice to switch to Sony Digital Cinema’s state-of-the-art 4K projection.
