More2Screen Appointed By Berliner Philharmoniker to Distribute First Ever Live Classical Concert Series to UK Cinemas

More2Screen is delighted to announce that it has been appointed cinema distributor in the UK and Ireland for one of the world’s leading orchestras – the Berliner Philharmoniker. A series of three concerts will be broadcast live to selected cinemas by the orchestra’s Digital Concert Hall beginning on Sunday 18 September with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.

Christine Costello, Managing Director, More2Screen comments: “We are thrilled to be working with the Berliner Philharmoniker in bringing these superb concerts to selected digital cinemas in the UK and Ireland.  Classical music fans here will be able to appreciate this internationally renowned orchestra in high definition and 5.1 surround sound, and enjoy this first live concert series from the Berliner Philharmoniker at their local cinema.”

Berlin Phil Media’s Managing Director, Robert Zimmermann, says of the collaboration with More2Screen: “Broadcasting concerts to UK cinemas has been a key priority following the enthusiastic response to our concert residency in London earlier this year. We are very much looking forward to the opportunity to stay in touch with all of our friends in the UK and Ireland which our collaboration with More2Screen will facilitate.”
