QuVIS PROVIDES SINGLE SERVER 3D ‘MONSTER HOUSE’
Continuing its pioneering efforts in 3D Digital Cinema, QuVIS, Inc. today announced the QuVIS Cinema System will present Columbia Pictures and executive producers Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg’s ‘Monster House’ in 3D, at select theaters internationally.
"We’re excited about presenting ‘Monster House’ in 3D. We feel 3D content is one of several ways that Digital Cinema can financially benefit exhibitors," Larry Jacobson, President of QuVIS’
Entertainment Division, said. "This method of presentation matches well with QuVIS’ goal to provide innovative competitive solutions for the motion picture industries’ conversion to digital."
“Monster House” is an exciting and hilarious thrill-ride tale about three kids who must do battle with a mysterious house that threatens anyone who crosses its path.
In supporting 3D Digital Cinema, QuVIS has provided the cinema system of choice for numerous production companies, post houses, and theaters over the last 3 years. QuVIS has also provided presentations at high profile demonstrations and seminars promoting the leading edge technology – including presentations at this year’s ShoWest and NAB. QuVIS servers enable the real-time recording of two separate source images to be efficiently stored as a single file on a single server, as well as frame-accurate synchronous playback via dual-link HD-SDI. The QuVIS Cinema System provides the most practical and storage efficient 3D solution on the market today.
Digital cinema audiences who see ‘Monster House’ weeks after its debut will see the same pristine image enjoyed by those who attend opening night. Over 200 domestic and international feature length motion pictures have been shown using QuVIS digital imaging servers,
utilizing JPEG2000 or QPE® technology. QuVIS’ leading edge
technology allows for multiple formats, offering exhibitors the ability to present a wider variety of high fidelity content such as independent films, high quality advertising, sporting events and locally produced content – along with single server 3D and 4K capabilities. Outside North America, such content is often mastered in QuVIS' QPE format - the same encoding technology used by NASA for its launch imagery and analysis.
“MONSTER HOUSE” from Columbia Pictures and executive producers Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg, opens in theaters everywhere across the U.S. on July 21st.
