Village International D-Cinema Festival® 2006
This is the first edition of Lisbon Village Festival
The influence of the information technologies on the contemporary culture led us
to a cultural paradigm change.
This change is part of the societies’ evolution to what we call “Knowledge
society” and “information society”.
Hand in hand with the information technology and communications evolution,
creativity, art and cultural creation and the way we access it, are changing as
well.
Lisbon Village Festival is a response to those changes. We offer fresh
perspectives on cultural availableness.
Lisbon Village Festival is a cultural event for the digital generation that
comprises:
Village International Digital Cinema Festival®
Musical performances at Village Lounge
Art exhibitions at Village Gallery
The Village International Digital Cinema Festival® is the main event as Portugal
recently inaugurated the national Digital Cinema Network featuring movie
on-demand. Not only does the network plays a very important role in redefining
film distribution, but also promotes the creation of film in digital format.
