1.3K Resolution Projection Technology
1.3K resolution projection refers to a general class of projectors where the imaging device is 1280 wide by either 720 or 1024 pixels high. Most d-cinema projectors manufactured between 1999 and 2003 were 1.3K resolution. As industry requirements evolved, “2K” resolution (2048s by 1080 pixels) was specified by DCI as the minimum needed for showing theatrical content.
