1948 RCA Balcony Projector (USA)
In 1948, RCA’s demonstrated a balcony-mounted projector that used a 15 inch CRT tube with an anode voltage of 80kV. The Schmidt-type optical system consisted of a 500 pound 42 inch mirror with a 36 inch lens. The mirror was said to be the largest of its type in the world with the exception of the 72 inch mirror used at the Mr. Wilson observatory.
