Formed in 1979 by brothers and co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Miramax produces and distributes Academy Award-nominated movies including "The Hours" and "Frida." Although the company originally distributed and produced lower budget, quirky art house films, Miramax now also develops bigger, more costly movies such as "Chicago" (2002's Best Picture Oscar winner) and Martin Scorsese's "Gangs of New York."
