Ecuador’s Supercines Theaters Chooses Christie® DLP Cinema® Projectors
Christie Brilliant3D™, Full 2K Resolution, Exceptional Service and Support Keys to Selecting Christie CP2000-SB Projectors
Christie®, a global leader in visual solutions for entertainment, business and industry, announced that Supercines, the largest and most modern cinema chain in Ecuador, selected Christie CP2000-SB digital cinema projectors to equip its newest 15-screen multiplex in Quito, the capital of Ecuador.
Headquartered in Guayaquil and owned by Corporación El Rosado S.A., one of the region’s most important industrialist groups, Supercines has theaters in all of the country’s major cities. It has earned a reputation for revolutionizing the cinema-going experience in Ecuador through the introduction of innovations such as stadium seating, tri-amplified Dolby® digital sound, and high resolution wall-to-wall screens.

The newest Supercines, a 15-screen multiplex in Quito with 7 exclusive VIP areas, features the Supercines Giant Theater, GT-MAX. It has the biggest screen in the world, more than 77ft x 44ft (23.5m x 13.5m) and provides an overwhelming viewing experience, especially in 3-D. Christie CP2000-SB projectors are used to project exceptionally large, bright 3-D images on the giant screen.
“We installed two Christie CP2000-SB digital cinema projectors with Christie Brilliant3D triple-flash technology, providing full 2K resolution for 3-D, the most light output, and maximum lamp efficiency,” said Guillermo Younger, president of Cinema Equipment and Supplies. “We plan to install another CP2000-SB projector for that multiplex in the next few months. All the digital projectors in the Supercines chain are Christie. Along with Dolby 3D servers, QSC amps and speakers, and Christie CDXL and CXL lamps, they project the best picture possible on the screen. Supercines plans to install a total of 19 Christie CP2000-SB digital projectors and Dolby 3D by the end of the year.”
