Kinoton America, Inc. conducts technical training course on studio film projectors

Kinoton America, Inc., a subsidiary of Kinoton GmbH, Germany, recently conducted a comprehensive technical training course for post-production, processing lab and studio clients in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, CA. Clients representing more than 10 companies attended the course. This marks the first time that technical training for studio equipment has been conducted in the United States.

The first two days included detailed training on the functioning, trouble-shooting and installation of the Kinoton FP 30 E-Q Quality Inspection Projector, one of Kinoton GmbH’s three studio film projector models. A fully equipped sound stage at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television served as the ideal location for hands-on interaction with the technology. John Syrjamaki, Head of Production at the School of Film and Television, had insisted that Kinoton America, Inc. conduct the training at LMU when plans for this studio projector training course were revealed this past spring. After all, what could be more important to LMU’s Film and Television School than educating experts on the design and functioning of complex electronic film projectors?

The second half of the technical training course convened at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills featuring Kinoton FP 38 EC II High-Speed Projectors. AMPAS management understood the value of training their senior technical personnel in their own facility.
