Sony Digital Cinema 4K taking the cinema experience to the next level
At this year’s Cinema Expo 2010 Sony Professional is unveiling for the first time its new Sony Digital Cinema 4K logo trailer, which will introduce this Sony brand category to cinema audiences around the world – of course in 4K.
The logo trailer will be presented across all industry leading cinemas that use Sony Digital Cinema 4K projection systems ahead of the latest blockbuster feature films. Industry awareness and demand for 4K has increased with motion picture companies including Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers keen to showcase movies at the maximum level of resolution as stipulated by international digital cinema standards.
Upcoming movie releases in 4K include; Sony Pictures Karate Kid, SALT and Eat, Pray, Love and Warner Bros. Entertainment’s contemporary sci-fi action film Inception.
As the world’s only manufacturer of commercially available 4K resolution digital cinema projectors today, Sony Professional supply end-to-end solutions, providing cinema audiences with a superior visual experience. The 4K projection system used in cinemas comprises mainly of Sony Professional’s SRX-R320 Digital Cinema Projector based on Sony’s proven SXRD technology, the LMT-300 Media Block and LSM-100 Screen Management System software.
Attending the event, Sony Professional will be present on stand 327 and not only show the latest line up of digital cinema products, including the Sony STM-100 Theater Management System and CineWatch-remote-monitoring, but also digital signage solutions from the Ziris range, which takes the experience quality of lobby displays in cinema to a new level. Furthermore, experts from Sony Financial Services will be available to explain all details of Sony’s offerings to support 4K and “3D on 4K” technology deployment.
