POINT.360 / IVC Digital Film Center Debuts 4K DI Mastering Theater Featuring 23’ x 12’ JKP AFFINITY Color Reference Screen
World’s Largest Color Reference Monitor (front projection system) Enhances Digital Intermediate & Digital Cinema Mastering
Point.360 / IVC Digital Film Center, a full service digital mastering facility, unveiled its new 4K mastering theater, featuring both 4K and 2K Projection, THX Certified surround, and the largest, currently installed (23’ x 12’), JKP AFFINITY color reference screen.
“The JKP Affinity screen is especially noteworthy,” said Jim James, IVC’s Chief Engineer, “and in our use it serves as what we believe is the best and largest color reference monitor now in use. It displays an incredible color accuracy and uniformity across its entire surface, without artifacts of any sort.” IVC’s General Manager, Scott Call, added, “The JKP Affinity screen reveals detail not visible on conventional screens; I’m confident in telling our clients that they haven’t seen their content’s full resolution until they see it projected in our new DI theater. This screen was specified and installed by IGI (Immersion Graphics, Inc), because of their expertise, and strong reputation of being at the forefront of advanced visualization system design and installation.” The screen’s vinyl and construction is the patented culmination of many years in development by Joseph Kane, an internationally known color display consultant and President of JKP (Joe Kane Productions), in collaboration with Da-Lite Screen Company for manufacturing and sale. The JKP Affinity Da-Lite screen was voted best new product by judges at INFOCOMM 2009, and has received many other prestigious industry awards.
