All Oscar Nominees for Achievement in Sound Editing and Mixing Employ Dolby Technologies
Dolby Laboratories announced today that all
films nominated for Oscars® this year in the Sound Editing and Sound Mixing
categories use Dolby® Digital or Dolby Digital Surround EX™ technology. The
winners will be announced on February 27 during the 77th Annual Academy Awards®,
which will be broadcast by ABC. The presentation will be televised live from the
Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
Dolby technologies have helped to create some of the most innovative audio
experiences in theatres. Ever since 1977, when Star Wars stunned audiences with
its revolutionary 35 mm Dolby Stereo soundtrack and was an Oscar winner for Best
Sound, Dolby has been recognized as the de facto standard for high-quality audio
in the cinema. Since then, films using Dolby audio technologies have earned
Oscar nominations for 27 consecutive years.
