XPAND 3D, the innovation leader and market leader in active 3D technologies for home, cinema and education, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Guido Voltolina as Chief Operating Officer.
Voltolina joins XPAND 3D from Dolby Laboratories where he was Senior Director of Strategic Planning and before that held senior leadership, global marketing positions at Intel Capital, Royal Philips Electronics and InFocus. Effective immediately, Voltolina is responsible for XPAND 3D's sales and operations functions with emphasis on driving market momentum of XPAND 3D's award-winning consumer product lines including the Universal 3D Glasses and the stylish YOUNIVERSAL line of customizable universal 3D eyewear.
Making the announcement, XPAND 3D Chief Executive Officer, Maria Costeira noted Voltolina's experience and leadership capabilities as key attributes that will be critical to XPAND 3D as the company launches numerous new products into the consumer marketplace in 2011. "With the first generation of Universal 3D Glasses, XPAND 3D demonstrated comprehensively how active 3D could - at once - be affordable and high-performing; with the YOUNIVERSAL family, we're eliminating any style or comfort challenges while taking performance to a new level and in 2011 we'll launch several more new products for an exciting array of applications and markets. This is a huge opportunity - but also a huge challenge that requires the management experience and market knowledge that Guido demonstrates! We are delighted to have him onboard and look forward to his contribution to our company as we grow our business in the months and years ahead!"
Echoing this sentiment, Voltolina said, "For me, the commitment to growth and the IP to back it up makes a company interesting and innovative. This is why I am pleased to join XPAND 3D. Maria Costeira has clearly articulated the opportunity and the corporate ambition and I am deeply committed to helping XPAND 3D achieve that ambition! I am confident that the core technology and the corporate culture is geared for growth and I look forward to working with the team here to make it happen efficiently and expeditiously."
Guido Voltolina graduated from Milan University, Milan, Italy with a degree in Computer Information Systems. He also holds a FIS Education evaluation report and letter from the dean of the University of Oregon and has attended the Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, Executive Program for High Growth Companies 2007.
