NEC Solutions America Unveils Next Generation of Large Screen DLP Cinema Projector; New Starus NC2500S Digital Cinema Projector Boasts Industry-First Features

NEC Solutions (America), Inc. today announced the availability of the largest in its line of Starus™ Digital Cinema projectors, the NC2500S. An advanced large screen digital cinema projector, the Starus NC2500S combines the highest resolution 2k DLP Cinema(R) technology from Texas Instruments with the brilliance of NEC's digital displays.

The Starus NC2500S Digital Cinema projector is the only projector with lens memory that simplifies displaying different types of content with different aspect ratios by enabling the operator to pre-set the lens shift position, zoom and focus. The Starus NC2500S is also the only DLP Cinema projector with lamp power memory, which allows the operator to maintain constant screen brightness regardless of the aspect ratio. Standard film projector lamps can be used in the NC2500S, and lamps can be replaced simply through the back of the projector, even in cramped spaces.

At 115Kg, the Starus NC2500S is the lightest in its class and offers a contrast ratio of 2000:1. With an optional touch-panel control, the NC2500S is the only DLP Cinema projector on the market with a built-in multi-media switcher that boasts a Realta™ processor with HQV™ technology powered by Teranex. HQV delivers high quality de-interlacing, pixel-based noise reduction, automatic per pixel film/video cadence detection, and detail enhancement.

The Starus NC2500S incorporates the Texas Instruments DLP Cinema technology features, including CineLink™, CineCanvas™, CinePallette™, CineBlack™, and projects concentrated black images allowing it to faithfully reproduce input sources, like digital cinema, that require high resolution and high contrast. An advanced prism assembly minimizes dust and reduces maintenance costs. The advanced liquid cooling system enhances the reliability of the projector.

All of NEC's Starus projectors comply with DCI's Digital Cinema System Specification for contrast ratio, colorimetry and uniformity. NEC is one of three manufacturers with the rights to incorporate this technology into their projectors.
