GSCA and LIPA Formalize Liaison Agreement

The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) and the Laser Illuminated Projector Association (LIPA) are pleased to announce they have formalized a liaison agreement to facilitate communication and promote a common understanding of each organization’s activity as it relates to laser illuminated projectors. The agreement will allow GSCA and LIPA to cooperate more closely on activities and information for their members.

Together, GSCA and LIPA will exchange views on regulatory issues, support regulatory reform, establish best practices in educating and training technicians, and educate the community of professionals regarding laser illuminated projectors.

“Laser-illuminated projection is the future of cinema, especially for giant screens,” says GSCA’s Executive Director Tammy Seldon. “GSCA seeks to create new relationships with networks of participants with shared interests that are open to cooperating and collaborating to create new value for all stakeholders. This agreement advances the interests of members from both associations, and we look forward to working with LIPA to address the industry’s needs as this technology advances.”

“Laser projector manufacturers have known for some time that laser illuminated projectors, theoretically, had the potential to solve the challenges that exist with bulb-based illumination,” noted Heidi Hoffman, Managing Director for LIPA. “Now, these projectors are coming to the market and we look forward to working more closely with the GSCA and its members on the benefits laser-illuminated projectors will bring to their enterprises and their patrons.”
