The first Dolby Cinema opens in Spain with Dolby Vision laser projection, Dolby Atmos sound technology and amazing design
Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) and Cinesa have today announced the first Dolby Cinema™ in Spain at Cinesa La Maquinista. Dolby Cinema is a premium cinema offering for movie goers that combines spectacular image and sound technologies with inspired design to deliver the total cinema experience.
Cinesa and Dolby have equipped the Dolby Cinema at Cinesa La Maquinista with a Dolby Vision™ laser projection system. This uses state-of-the-art optics and image processing to deliver high dynamic range with enhanced colour technology and a contrast ratio that far exceeds that of any other image technology on the market today. The result is a richer, more detailed viewing experience that delivers strikingly vivid and realistic images that make viewers feel like they are in the movie’s world.
“We are thrilled with our collaboration with Dolby to launch Spain’s first Dolby Cinema. We are confident that Dolby Cinema’s innovative concept will transform the cinema industry. This is an experience like no other that will enable consumers to rediscover cinema like never before,” said Javier Fernández, Cinesa President and General Director.
“Dolby Cinema offers a unique cinema experience that transports the audience into the story. Incredible sound moves anywhere in the Dolby cinema with striking realism, combined with rich and captivating imagery that makes every visit a memorable event from the moment you enter the cinema,” said Javier Foncillas, Senior Regional Director, Western Europe, Dolby Laboratories.
Dolby Cinema enables richer and more detailed storytelling through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos®, award-winning Dolby sound technology, which moves audio around the theatre, even overhead, with amazing richness and depth. Dolby Cinema combines the latest technology with inspired design to set the mood and take audiences on a unique journey. The Dolby Cinema has undergone sophisticated visual and acoustic room treatments that have been finely tuned. In addition, the dynamic audio/video pathway, faceted acoustic panels and curved wall-to-wall-to-ceiling screen offer a premium cinematic experience.
