RealD Delivers Over $25 Million of Estimated $58.2 Million Opening Weekend Gross for Monsters Vs. Aliens

DreamWorks Animation Film Becomes Highest-Grossing 3D Theatrical Release
RealD, the world’s leading outfitter of 3D enabled theaters, brought in approximately $25 million of the total box office for DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: DWA) Monsters vs. Aliens, which earned an estimated $58.2 million during its opening weekend, marking the biggest opening yet for RealD.

"Monsters vs. Aliens is a remarkable film that captures the true capabilities of 3D," stated Michael V. Lewis, chairman and CEO of RealD. "The film’s success this weekend is proof that audiences are continuing to embrace the next-generation of 3D technology.
