Paradise FX, Post Republic and Vertigo Films are pleased to announce the formation of Paradise FX Europe. This innovative company will offer Europe’s first one-stop shop for 3D production, delivering outstanding live action 3D films, television programmes and advertisements.
For the first time in Europe, PFXE will offer film-makers a proven end-to-end 3D digital workflow – from conception through to post-production. Providing Producers and Directors with experienced crews and proven 3D technology, that has been developed over the past 18 years by one of the global leaders in 3D.
In 2009, Paradise FX won the inaugural top prize at the Venice 3D Film Festival, for Joe Dante’s The Hole, competing against the heavily promoted Up and Coraline. Their credits also include My Bloody Valentine (worldwide gross of US$100m), Dark Country and are currently shooting Jackass 3D for Paramount. In the summer of 2009 they worked on Europe’s
first live-action 3D feature film the acclaimed StreetDance 3D, which
lead to the formation of Paradise FX Europe created to inform and service the
rapidly expanding European 3D market.
Vertigo’s James Richardson says – “Having had such a
successful experience with our first 3D feature, StreetDance 3D, all of us at
Vertigo are delighted to be building on our relationship with the highly
experienced teams at Paradise and at Post Republic. As a producer, I wanted to
make sure my production was being very carefully looked after in terms of the 3D
financially and creatively. PFXE will give producers, directors and DOP’s not
only enormous creative freedom but also a secure, dependable environment.”
Paradise’s Tim Thomas adds – “We are
delighted to be working with Vertigo and Post Republic in providing our proven
3D image acquisition techniques and experience to Europe. 3D has rapidly been
embraced by Hollywood’s top filmmakers and we look forward to helping to bring
European filmmakers the same opportunity to include
stereographic 3D as a powerful tool to enhance the telling of their
stories.”
Post Republic’s Michael Reuter
continues “3D filmmaking is introducing a whole lot of new technologies to us as
a Postproduction company. We are especially excited to extend our know-how in
collaboration with Paradise FX as one of he most experienced companies in this
field. To extend this collaboration into a set up that may well be the strongest
platform for 3D filmmaking in Europe is a fantastic
opportunity”.
PFXE’s Managing Director, Jim
Spencer says – “We are entering a new era of entertainment, which is all about
immersing the audience in the experience and Paradise FX’s 3D technology allows
producers and directors the ability to capture this, without restricting their
ambition or creativity. Our aim is to work alongside film-makers from the
beginning to the end of the process, to deliver exceptional 3D content within
their frame-work”.
PFXE will be fully operational in
January 2010 with offices in Cologne & Berlin, Germany and London, UK. The
company has begun lining up projects for 2010 and already has two 3D feature
films in its schedule.
PFXE will also be presenting at the
Berlin Film Festival.
