Arts Alliance Media (AAM), Europe’s leading
digital cinema company, has announced that it has signed a deal with A
Contracorriente Films to provide digital cinema content and distribution
services for A Contracorriente’s theatrical releases in Spain. Under the
agreement, AAM has also achieved a digital cinema first by distributing the
film El Caso Farewell (L’affaire
Farewell) via satellite to Yelmo cinema screens across Spain.
The agreement will see A Contracorriente using AAM as its preferred
supplier for all content and delivery services – encompassing encoding and DCP
creation (including addition of subtitles, logos and audio), reversioning,
delivery of content to cinemas via satellite or hard drive, and full KDM
management service. AAM has full QC services, with fully equipped digital
cinemas, in both Paris and London, enabling seamless pan-European servicing.

A Contracorriente is one of the leading independent film
distributors in Spain, distributing 6-8 films a year theatrically. Since May
2010 the company has been responsible for Spanish distribution of films
including Bienvenidos Al Sur (Bienvenuti Al Sud) and Pequeñas
Mentiras Sin Importancia (Les Petits Mouchoirs) and
is handling the upcoming releases Dinero
Facil (Snabba Cash),5 Metros
Cuadrados,Jane Eyre and La Delicatesse, in addition to El Caso Farewell which released on
August 5th.
Arts Alliance Media has been providing DCI compliant content and
distributor services to studio and independent clients across Europe since
2006, and has handled over 1000 titles to date, distributing digital prints
around the world. AAM’s partnership with Arqiva Satellite & Media means
that the company has been responsible for several satellite distribution
firsts, including the first multiple-territory distribution of a feature film,
and the first ever satellite delivery of a feature for commercial release in
