Barco launches compact 2k digital cinema projector for smaller screens at Cine Expo.
Barco today launches a new, compact 2K
digital cinema projector based on the DLP Cinema™ technology of Texas
Instruments at Cine Expo, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Barco’s new D-Cine Premiere DP90 projector is a compact 2k digital cinema
projector, based on the DLP Cinema™ technology, that meets or exceeds the SMPTE
screen brightness standards for screens up to 15m (49ft), making it an ideal
choice for exhibitors and post-production studios with smaller screens.
The lamp power redundancy system enables the Barco’s D-Cine Premiere DP90 to
offer an extremely reliable projection solution. If one power supply should
fail, operation is secured thanks to the redundant second module.
Lower total cost of ownership is ensured by its sealed engine, cost-efficient
design and the ability of the DP90 to flexibly slide the power to economy mode,
allowing the extension of the lamp lifetime up to 200%.
The D-Cine Premiere DP90, with its stand-alone projector and separate lamp power
supply, allows easy integration in the design of any theatre or post-production
studio. Easy access is guaranteed by removable side panels and several reference
points at the top of the projector, while the specially designed robust
projection frame guarantees stable and easy ceiling-mount installations.
Thanks to the SNMP agent feature, which comes optional with the DP90, total and
constant monitoring of the internal projection system is guaranteed. The SNMP
agent software also allows for flexible integration in existing networks as well
as proactive intervention and maintenance if necessary.
The DP90 forms part of Barco’s D-Cine Premiere 2k projector range, which
includes the now famous DP100 used for the European launches of Star Wars:
Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in May.
The new DP90 will be on display on the Barco booth (Hollandhal, suite B) at
Cinema Expo in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from 27 to 30 June.
