Bartholomeu Digital Cinema, a digital cinema services integrator, based in
Portugal, is co-sponsoring along with the city-hall, the Lisbon Village
Festival. Lisbon Village Festival is a cultural event for the digital generation
that will take place in Lisbon from the 21st through the 25th of June.
These
five days of cultural events include:
- Village International Digital Cinema Festival ®
- Musical performances at Village Lounge
- Art exhibitions at Village Gallery
The Village International Digital Cinema Festival (VIDCF) is the main event as
Portugal recently inaugurated the national Digital Cinema Network featuring
movie on-demand. Not only does the network plays a very important role in
redefining film distribution, but also promotes the creation of film in digital
format.
As a digital cinema solutions company, Bartholomeu Digital Cinema conceived,
plan and implemented the turn key solution to the Portuguese government.

The VIDCF competition consists of two sections:
- International Feature Film Festival
Fiction films with minimum duration of 80 minutes, shot in digital in the
following formats: Betacam Digital, Betacam IMX, HD CAM, MiniDV, DVCAM and HDV.
Films with year of production 2005 and 2006.
- International Short Film Festival
Fiction films with minimum duration of 80 minutes, shot in digital in the
following formats: Betacam Digital, Betacam IMX, HD CAM, MiniDV, DVCAM and HDV.
Films with year of production 2005 and 2006.
Bartholomeu Digital Cinema plans to continue its expansion to Europe and Latin
America creating different nationality cinema networks that could easily
exchange content among each other creating a cost effective way to promote and
distribute independent cinema. Bartholomeu also plans to continue to support
cultural initiatives that promote the digital culture, particularly, digital
cinema.
