Following the installation of 5 projectors for the digital release of Star
Wars “Attack of the Clones”, the supply of a further 11 projectors represents
another major step forward in Barco’s ’s relationship with the China Film Bureau
and the China Film Group (CFG).
The latest digital theater installations, include a further three theaters in
Beijing, two in Shanghai - one of which is also equipped with a 33sqm Barco
Dlite LED wall - and two in Hangzhou.
Other single venue installations are located in Dalian, Guangdong Nanhai, Hefei
and Ning Bo and are all scheduled to be completed by December 20. This is in
time for the release of the Chinese digital movie "Hero", directed by the
renowned Chinese director Mr. Zhang Yi Mou.
Since its first sale in May of a D-Cine Premiere DLP Cinema projector to China’s
leading Post house, the Hualong Film Digital Production Co. Ltd., Barco has
provided projectors for CFG’s national launch of digital theaters for the Star
Wars II and more recently Stellar Megamedia for their Post facility in Beijing
and state-of-the-art multiplex in Shanghai.
All installations have also been equipped with Barco’s D-Cine Premiere digital
projector and ACSAR alternative content input switcher to enable a full range of
HD movie, broadcast inputs as well the increased quota of Hollywood Movie
screenings.
