RRI and XDC cooperate in the production, the duplication and the distribution of digital film copies (so-called Digital Cinema Packages or DCP’s). The collaboration permits ARRI to offer its customers an all-in service for the distribution of digital film copies. Thanks to the cooperation, it is possible to encode a distribution-DCP at Arri in Munich. XDC prepares and duplicates the digital copies for the respective theatre systems. To guarantee a secure and well-rehearsed workflow, XDC is in charge of the key management, logistics, time windows and their extensions as well.

DC has been selected as an Official Partner of the Cannes Film Festival 2005. It is exclusively providing all the digital technology from mastering to play-back for all digital cinema films being shown this year. This includes the CineStoreTM server infrastructure required for Star Wars Episode 3 and for Sin City. In addition, almost 20 movies have been encoded by XDC and will be screened in Cannes.
