When “Disney's A Christmas Carol” Train Tour, sponsored by HP, makes its debut at Los Angeles' Union Station this Memorial Day Weekend (May 22nd – 25th), and subsequently launches its 40-city whistle stop tour across the U.S. over the next 24 weeks, Barco's DP-2000 digital cinema projectors will be on board. Disney has selected Barco's state-of-the-art projectors to provide the public with a special sneak peek at its spectacular new holiday release, in a traveling Disney Digital 3D™ theatre that will be erected at each stop along the way.

Barco Expands Digital Cinema Reach into Latin America Capturing Majority Market Share
Digital Cinema pioneer Barco announced today that the deployment of its digital cinema projectors is growing substantially into the Latin American marketplace. Spearheaded by Barco's relationship with Texas-based Cinemark International, Barco DP-2000 projectors have been deployed into more than 25 Cinemark multiplexes throughout Mexico, Central and South America, including major cities in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil.

Sioux City, Iowa, Goes Digital with Barco
showcase auditorium at the Promenade Cinema complex in Sioux City, Iowa. The project is the first for the Omaha-based exhibitor, who owns and operates 37 screens at six locations throughout Iowa and Nebraska. In conjunction with Barco, the purchase was arranged through Roger Bockert of Heartland Theatre Services, the company who also installed the digital cinema systems.

Barco introduces three new 2K digital cinema projectors at ShoWest
At the 2007 ShoWest convention in Las Vegas, digital cinema pioneer Barco expands the DP series with three new multi-venue digital cinema projectors: the DP-1500, DP-2000 and the DP-3000. The DP-3000 is Barco’s new flagship projector for screens up to 30m (98’). The DP-1500 and DP-2000 projectors, featuring the new 0.98 inch DLP Cinema® chip from Texas Instruments, are intended for mid and small-market venues.
