Regal Entertainment Group Partners with Real D for Rollout of Digital 3 D Cinema

Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States under the Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres and Edwards Theatres brands, and REAL D, the leader in the delivery of premium 3-D experiences, announced today that the companies have entered an agreement to rollout digital 3-D cinema in Regal brand theatres. Regal will install REAL D Cinema systems on 17 screens in theatres in the top markets for the presentation of digital 3-D content.

Disney’s highly anticipated, first-ever CG animated film Chicken Little will be the first feature film presented by Regal in REAL D Cinema format on Nov. 4, 2005. As part of the REAL D Cinema experience, Chicken Little audiences will receive a pair of 3-D glasses styled after the eyeglasses worn by lead character Chicken Little; the glasses can be taken home free as souvenirs of the movie.

“Seeing a movie in REAL D Cinema is a unique entertainment experience that cannot be replicated in the home,” said Greg Dunn, President and Chief Operating Officer, Regal Entertainment Group. “We are pleased to work with REAL D to introduce movie audiences to the next evolution of theatrical entertainment.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Regal to rollout REAL D Cinema. REAL D is setting the standard for digital 3-D and profoundly impacting the theatrical landscape,” said Michael V. Lewis, Chairman, REAL D. “REAL D’s goal is to broaden the cinematic footprint so that digital 3-D truly is a mainstream experience available to mass audiences.”

The REAL D Cinema platform is rapidly emerging as the standard for the delivery of digital 3-D cinema. In addition to content from Disney, Columbia Pictures has committed to the 2006 release of content for the REAL D Cinema platform.
