Doremi Plays The Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC Compliant Digital Cinema Package
Doremi Technologies is pleased to announce the successful playback on the
DCP2000 Digital Cinema Server of the Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC (DCI)
compliant Digital Cinema Package (DCP) called “StEM Mini Movie – The Sequel 2K @
24fps” which marks one of most important milestone for the development of
Digital Cinema.
Following the release May 1st of the MXF-Interop compliant DCP2 Digital Cinema
Server that was immediately installed in several digital upgraded theatres
through USA, Doremi will introduce at Cinema Expo Amsterdam June 28-30 (Booth
211), the first release of the DCP2000 Digital Cinema Server designed from
scratch to meet the DCI recommendations for Digital Cinema based on the JPEG2000
visual lossless codec.
The DCP-2000 Digital Cinema Server is capable of playing DCI compliant 2K DCP
using JPEG2000 codec at up to 250Mbits/sec. The DCP-2000 features dual link
HD-SDI output, up to 2K RGB 4:4:4 @ 10/12 bits, up to 1200GBytes of RAID5
storage, AES-128 decryption engine, KDM support, CineLink & CineCanvas support,
GPIO for automation, analog, AES & embedded audio with 8 to 16 tracks, Gigabit
Ethernet, all in a ruggedized 3RU chassis. The projectionist interface is
available through an optional GUI touchscreen interface.

The development process was a collaborative effort of Doremi Labs, Burbank and
Doremi Technologies, Sophia-Antipolis involving technologies developed at both
locations. Doremi Technologies recently expanded its European headquarter
operation with a new building located at the heart of Sophia-Antipolis high tech
Park, located 15mn from Cannes city, well known in the film industry. The new
building is setup to provide soon European assembly lines for the DCP2 and
DCP2000 Digital Cinema Servers.
