For over fifteen years, movie goers in Dominica, a small island in the Caribbean with a population of just over seventy thousand people, did not had the joy of a cinema unless traveling overseas. With a vision about 10 years ago to open a cinema, Albert Raffoul and Nigel Shillingford saw the opportunity in 2018 and thus, Emerald Movies Inc, a company established in September 2018. The company opened its doors to the public on June 17, 2019, almost a year after making contact with Edward Younger of CES for a proposal of cinema equipment. It has truly been a pleasure working with Edward and the CES team. At Emerald Movies, it’s not just a movie, it’s an experience.
