Regal Entertainment Group selects AAM’s Theatre Management Software

Arts Alliance Media (AAM), the global leader in digital cinema software and services, today announces that it has provided Regal Entertainment Group, operators of one of the largest and most geographically diverse theatre circuits in the US, with its most powerful, flexible and widely deployed Theatre Management System (TMS), Screenwriter.

AAM’s Screenwriter software is playing a key role in driving capabilities within Regal L.A. LIVE: A Barco Innovation Center, the latest cinema innovation center that represents a new vision for the modernisation of cinema complexes. The innovation center was officially launched on April 1st.

AAM’s TMS solution was selected by Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE, owned by AEG, for its market-leading functionality and its ability to deliver cutting-edge and engaging customer experiences. Screenwriter offers Regal a future-proof solution that can be implemented across multiple hardware platforms, and a flexible content management system that can monitor and control all screens within the new innovative, technology-driven cinema complex.

Screenwriter can easily manage content across screens, automate processes that are time-consuming and inaccurate, and use proactive monitoring alerts to respond to potential issues before any shows are lost. With a comprehensive, at-a-glance view of what is happening across the entire complex, Screenwriter enables Regal and its staff to concentrate on face-to-face customer interactions, taking them away from the projection booth to create more personalised and memorable audience experiences.

“In today’s new digital world, consumers are looking for new and exciting content experiences, and the cinema is no exception. The industry is going through a period of change, and technology is playing a central role in delivering on the future vision of cinemas. AAM is at the heart of this evolution, and we are the obvious choice for a future-proof TMS built by a future looking company,” said Eric Stevens, Commercial Director at AAM. “By embracing technologies that improve the customer experience, cinemas can give audiences access to a wider variety of content with greater availability, and deliver targeted and personalized experiences that they will ultimately demand and enjoy. We’re delighted to be working with Regal on this innovative project. By embracing our TMS technology, we are helping the industry pave the way for better customer experiences, and we are extremely proud to be part of this exciting and forward thinking project.”

With 7,329 screens in 567 theatres across the U.S., Regal provides exhibitors and audiences with a convenient and enjoyable movie-going experience – the Regal L.A. LIVE: A Barco Innovation Center is true testimony to its vision of driving widespread new cinema experiences to the market. AAM’s technology will sit alongside that of leading global technology company Barco. Barco will bring cutting-edge technology to the L.A. based cinema complex, including Barco Lobby Experience, Barco Laser, Barco Escape and Immersive Sound.

“Our new Innovation Center represents a new step in the movie theatre industry for business and technology,” said Greg Dunn, President and Chief Operating Officer for Regal. “As the complex hosts over 20 movie premieres annually, we’re committed to providing the public with the best movie-going experiences possible. AAM’s software unlocks a range of benefits that support our mission of setting a new standard in cinema quality, and the technology will play a significant role in ensuring an exceptional customer experience.”
