TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Kadoma Selects GDC Media Servers

TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Kadoma Selected SR-1000 IMB to Ensure Audiences Experience the Highest Quality Imagery

GDC Technology Limited (‘GDC’), a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, announced today that TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Kadoma owned by TOHO Cinemas Corporation (TOHO Cinemas) will deploy SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block™ and integrate Theatre Management System (TMS-2000) as well as web-based Central Management Enterprise Software (CMS-3000). With TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Kadoma, the company continues to expand its footprint in Japan and maintain its focus on the deployment of leading technologies to create the best cinema experience with excellent added value to retain and expand its customer base.

The TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Kadoma is the company’s 74th cinema site and will comprise nine screens when opened on April 17th, 2023. The cinema has 1,430 seats, all-RGB laser projection and is in the large commercial facilities “Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Kadoma” and “Mitsui Outlet Park Osaka Kadoma” scheduled to open this spring. The location is 1-11 Matsuocho, Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture. Four screens will introduce newly developed “wide comfort seats” which are luxurious leather seats that provide extra comfort for moviegoers.

Tokyu Recreation's theatre manager, Yusuke Hirono, stated, “They strive to create a unique and immersive experience at their ‘sensory-opening movie theatre’ by offering luxurious amenities and innovative technology that goes beyond the norm. They chose GDC's solutions because of the company's exceptional technology and customer service, as well as their proven product reliability.”

SR-1000 Standalone IMB is the only solution currently available that supports series 1, 2, 3 and 4 DLP Cinema® projectors, making it the best possible solution for exhibitors with series 1 projectors that need the server replaced.
