Doremi's CineAsset™ Software Now for Mac OS X

Software Based Mastering Solution Converts Unencrypted Files to JPEG2000 for Digital Cinema Playback
Doremi Cinema, a leader in digital cinema technology, today announced the availability of CineAsset™ Software for Mac OS X. CineAsset-PRO™ is also available for Mac. Pricing for the Mac versions remain the same as the Windows versions.

CineAsset™ was introduced last year at ShoWest with much success. The software is a media asset management solution that converts common computer files such as QuickTime, AVI, JPEG and TIFF to JPEG2000, unencrypted MXF wrapped files for playback on digital cinema servers including Doremi’s DCP-2000, DCP-2K4 and DSV-J2. Both 2D and 3D content can be converted. Since it's initial release, XYZ colorspace conversion and scaling have been added as well as multi-threading in the faster PRO version.

Another key advancement to CineAsset™ is CPL authoring (Composition Play List). CPL authoring will allow users to organize content in specific order in one DCP (Digital Cinema Package) eliminating potential errors in showlist creation as well as multi-reel feature creation.

Ideal for independent filmmakers or regional theater chains with digital cinema systems, CineAsset™ software allows statutory messages, custom slides and local commercials to be quickly and easily produced in-house without any prior experience in digital cinema mastering. Now, exhibitors and advertisers have more flexibility on pre-show content file preparation and delivery.

CineAsset™ for Mac OS X opens up new opportunities for those content creators on Mac platforms. A far larger customer base can take advantage of creating content for digital cinema. “With CineAsset™, the JPEG2000 conversion and MXF wrapping happens as a software solution and creates DCI compliant content that can be ingested and scheduled directly on the server” comments Michael Archer, VP of Doremi Cinema. “This takes full advantage of the high quality 2K digital cinema experience without the added expense and time of off-site mastering”.

Available as a download on doremicinema.com the simple, easy-to-use CineAsset™ interface guides the user through the process of converting JPEG and BMP images, Flash animations, AVI and QuickTime movies into standards compliant DCPs in the DCI JPEG2000 format.
