Meyer Sound Sponsors the 23rd European Film Awards in Estonia
Meyer Sound is proud to be an official sponsor of this year’s European Film Awards (EFA) ceremonies scheduled for December 4 in Tallinn, Estonia. This year’s event will take place at the Nokia Concert Hall in the Solaris Cultural and Leisure Centre, where permanently installed Meyer Sound systems support the facility’s diverse programming year-round.
“The European Film Awards is an opportunity to honor Europe’s greatest film stars, directors, cinematographers, screenwriters, composers, and more,” says Jürgen Biesinger, executive producer for the European Film Awards. “With the industry’s bests in one room, it is critical that the event goes smoothly and flawlessly. We take comfort in knowing that Meyer Sound is taking charge of this year’s sound.”
Presented by the European Film Academy, the European Film Awards recognize achievements by European filmmakers in 17 categories, including the People’s Choice Award. The awards gala will be broadcast to viewers in more than 50 countries.
The 1,829-seat Nokia Concert Hall is Estonia’s newest major performing arts venue. It features a Meyer Sound reinforcement system based around 20 MICA® and ten M’elodie® line array loudspeakers, with a Constellation® acoustic system providing variable acoustics at the touch of a button. Recent and forthcoming events at the Nokia Concert Hall include legendary British rockers Procol Harum, jazz great Herbie Hancock, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre, and musical Evita.
Since Meyer Sound debuted the company’s first line of cinema products in 2009, the EXP™ cinema loudspeaker systems have been installed in nine premium screening rooms housed inside the Solaris Centre, among other world-class movie exhibition and postproduction facilities. The Solaris Kino commercial cinema complex has seven screening rooms with capacities ranging from 80 to 525, while two Artis art cinemas seat 80 and 180 patrons respectively. All feature Meyer Sound’s Acheron® screen channel loudspeakers, X-800C cinema subwoofers, HMS-10 cinema surround loudspeakers, and Galileo® loudspeaker management systems.
