Doremi Partners in Odeon Milestone with the Completion of 809 Screen Deployment
oremi Cinema has celebrated with Odeon, the largest cinema chain across the UK and Ireland, on the completion of its digital rollout. The programme, over two years, has involved all 113 Odeon cinemas in the UK and Ireland. A total of 890 Odeon screens are now operating with Doremi DCP-2000 digital cinema servers.
Marking the completion of the digital conversion programme, Odeon COO, Roger Harris commented, “Throughout this programme we have had great support from our partners, Doremi Cinema. That, and the reliability of their cinema servers, has helped to make this period of great change run smoothly.”
Brent Watson, Doremi European Customer Services Manager, added, “This is a milestone for digital cinema in the UK. We are proud to have been so closely involved with this successful project and look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Odeon.”
The business continues as Odeon expands. Due to the chain’s recent acquisition of 5 Reel cinemas, 26 more servers are now heading for installation and a further six are needed for a new Dublin cinema.
Doremi Cinema has its world headquarters and production facilities in Burbank (USA), its European headquarters and R&D in Sophia-Antipolis (France), a Japan office in Tokyo, and two other R&D entities in Canada and EMEA. It has delivered over 30,000 cinema servers to customers around the world and has the production capacity to offer short delivery times.
With over 75 years of Cinema experience, ODEON is the biggest cinema chain in the UK and Ireland. It owns or manages 890 screens at 113 sites across the UK & Ireland and the Group operates 2119 screens at 225 sites across Europe as a whole, making it the largest cinema Group in Europe.
