EDCF Publishes A Technical Guide for Film Festivals

EDCF publishes a guide aimed at technical managers of film festivals and production companies and DCP authoring houses preparing content for film festivals.

EDCF presents the first stage publication of its Festival Guide at http://www.edcf.net/festivals.html

This site offers the first three documents plus a link to other festivals' documents. The intention is that this will continue as a "live" project and future contributions and modifications will be made available through this web-site.

These documents provide advisory information for festival technical departments and essential information for producers and DCP authoring facilities facing the difficulties of preparing content for festivals.

Documents are offered in formats which allow them to be modified to meet the specific needs of individual festivals.

The guide is offered freely to everyone in the industry.

About European Digital Cinema Forum: The EDCF is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation that aims to act as a "Forum" to discuss key issues surrounding Digital Cinema in Europe. The purpose of EDCF is to provide a basis of common understanding across all European territories of the business and technical matters of digital cinema. We were established in 2000, before the widespread rollout of digital cinema technology, in order to accompany the rollout and minimise any impact on European cinema, as well as putting forward a European point of view of cinema technology within global standards organisations. Our work has now widened to include all technologies in cinema.  Membership is open to any organisation or individual with a genuine interest in furthering the knowledge and understanding of digital cinema.
