Karo, One of Russia’s Leading and Fastest Developing Cinema Chains Select Unique Digital’s Rosettabridge Tms, Rosettanet and Basekey Suite

Karo cinema chain has selected RosettaBridge™ TMS developed by Unique Digital Ltd as an integral part of their digital cinema deployment in Russia, supplied and installed by dcinex Russia. Karo are the leading cinema chain in Russia with 30 cinemas and 221 screens and will complete the TMS deployment during Q4 2014. In addition Karo are taking Unique’s estate management solution RosettaNet™ as well as Basekey™ KDM delivery service.

RosettaBridge is a full featured theatre management system providing Karo cinema management and staff with an unrivalled suite of tools to manage film, advertising and trailer content within each site through an intuitive and easy to use interface. Key features include a scalable library server, agnostic player and projector remote control, automation control and content distribution with all elements being managed using a simple drag and drop browser based GUI.

RosettaNet™ is a full Cinema Network Management system that allows programming, monitoring and support of an entire estate of digital cinema projectors, servers and other IP connected devices. RosettaNet connects directly to any RosettaBridg TMS via a secure internet connection and allows global operations relating to content and playlist management. Security is ensured through the provision of user defined logins and access roles, as well as optional one-time verification codes. RosettaNet provides operations staff and management oversight on all operational issues relating to KDMs, playlists, content and device status with comprehensive messaging and alerts. The ability to monitor the status of all screens and devices in an estate, create and deploy centralized playlists and booking schedules, coupled with a wealth of new technical and commercial data will allow Karo to unlock the true benefit of their all-digital cinema estate thus adding value and reducing cost.

Basekey provides fully automated distribution and delivery of KDMs to every playback server in the network via a centralized web interface. Studios and distributors simply upload new keys using a secure login and each RosettaBridge TMS automatically distributes keys for its site directly to the screen playback servers. Full delivery audit data is available and exhibitors benefit from significant operational savings. In addition the Basekey Portal provides a full Trusted Device List (TDL) of all connected DC equipment within the estate that is always up to date.

“Following the successful conversion of all our screens to digital, we needed an automated, integrated and localized solution to manage our film scheduling and pre-show content.  RosettaBridge TMS has a Russian Language GUI as well as an interface directly to our new Point of Sale System from Vista Entertainment Solutions. This is critical for us. said Mark Waldman, CTO for KaroFilm.

“We tested Unique’s RosettaBridge TMS in our newest and largest cinema, KaroFilm Vegas at the Crocus City Mall, in Moscow. KaroFilm Vegas is the largest cinema in Russia and one of the largest cinemas in Europe with more than 4,400 seats, and 22 screens over 18,000 square meters. The Projection area is also quite big. Automation with RosettaBridge is critical. It allows us increase efficiency, and reduce operational overheads which in turn enable our staff to concentrate on the front of house activity.”

Rod Wheeler, Sales and Marketing Director of Unique Digital Ltd commented, “We have worked closely with the Karo and their technical teams and are pleased to have been able to demonstrate a fully automated solution. Film schedules created by Karo management in their POS ticket system are automatically reflected in the RosettaBridge TMS on each site and we look forward to working with Karo on this significant project in Russia as they move towards a fully digital workflow.“
