21st ICTA Seminar Series in Barcelona

The upcoming month, the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) will again host its technical expert seminar prior to CineEurope. This year, we have optimized the seminar schedule to give attendees the opportunity to attend keynotes and panel discussions during the tradeshow.  To this end, the ICTA Seminar Series will now start on Sunday, June 19, 2016, traditionally at Cinesa Diagonal Mar close to the CCIB Convention Centre.

At 2:00 pm Oliver Pasch (Sony) and Phil Clapp (UNIC) will start the program with a discussion on the current status of the industry. The evening reception will take place at a different location this time: All seminar attendees are invited to join us at Boo Restaurant & Beach Club, right on the beach with fantastic views over the sea at 8:00 pm for excellent food, drinks and networking opportunities in an informal atmosphere.

The ICTA will once again present awards to screens that are currently in the focus of the public. The award as "Classic Screen of the Year" goes to Odeon Leicester Square, London (UK), the award as "New Build Screen of the Year" goes to Vue Cinema, Alkmaar (Netherlands). Cinecittà in Nuremberg (Germany) receives the "New Screen of the Year" award for its successful technical refurbishment.

The seminar series will continue on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the CCIB, e.g. with presentations on the topics of Light Field Cinema, Global Laser Update, Accoustical Room Measurement, All about Seats and 3D Technology for Design. To complete the program, different manufacturers will present their latest product news in 3-minute time slots. The series of events again aims at European exhbitiors* who pay only for the event on Sunday evening and enjoy free entry to the seminar provided that they are registered as a visitor of CineEurope.
