Trinnov Audio Announces Microphone Calibration Flexibility for the Ovation 2 Cinema Processor

Trinnov Audio is based in France, where the company gained a 20% market share with its Ovation cinema processor. In the last three years, the word went out and that success eventually expanded to other territories with the Ovation becoming a more and more popular option worldwide thanks to its easier calibration process and incredible subsequent sonic results. The Ovation 2 takes it to another level with an intuitive user-friendly experience, for both 5.1 and 7.1 rooms as well as more complicated systems like LED cinema and DTS-X.

“Besides its sound quality, one of the main benefits and strengths of the Ovation 2 is ease of calibration. Properly trained, any cinema engineers can achieve extremely good results within 20 minutes using the Ovation 2 , results that would take several hours otherwise. As we grow, it’s critical for us to make it as easy as possible for installers to embrace the Ovation 2 ”, said Mike Babb, Cinema Technical & Sales Manager, as well as a working cinema engineer.

Starting at ShowEast, Trinnov Audio will introduce new calibration options.

Microphone files conversion application to make existing microphones Ovation 2 -compatible

First, we created an application to convert manufacturer calibration files.

The application already supports the most common calibration microphones in the cinema market, knowingly the Acoustx D2 and Beyerdynamic MM1.

Installers willing to use the Ovation 2 but already equipped can, therefore, send us the compensation files of their microphones, which we will convert to an Ovation 2 compatible format.

Going forward, we have the ability to convert for any brand, given the proper data and based on the number of requests for any given microphone model.

More compact and lighter 4-microphone calibration kit

Secondly, we created a 4 XLR shielded ethernet cable box, a quarter the size of our 8 mic box, for a quick and easy run to the processor.

Our dealers can take orders beginning at Showeast Miami and beyond at an affordable $100/€100 list price.

Later in the fall, we will begin supplying our complete 4 mic kit for customers who want a self-contained option, using Acoustx D2 mics and roughly ¼ the size and weight of our 8 mic kit.

Staff will be on the floor at Showeast and CineAsia for any questions.

Contact cinema@trinnov.com for details.
