JBL Professional Introduces Dynamic 3800 and 4800 Series ScreenArray® Cinema Speakers For China Market

Two- and three-way passive and bi-amplified screen-channel loudspeakers deliver enhanced, detailed sound for state-of-the-art theatres
HARMAN Professional Solutions, the global leader in audio, video, lighting and control, today introduced JBL Professional 3800 and 4800 Series ScreenArray screen-channel loudspeakers  for small- to medium-format cinemas in China.

Five new models of passive and bi-amplified loudspeakers are the latest additions to the legendary JBL 3000 and 4000 Series of cinema speakers. They reproduce every nuance of today’s modern digital soundtracks with unsurpassed clarity, thanks to acoustic innovations including Differential Drive woofers, custom titanium compression drivers and patented horn designs that compensate for perforated screens to deliver consistent coverage to every seat in the house.

These compact, versatile loudspeakers are optimized for smaller cinema spaces, with shallow profiles that meet minimum behind-screen depth requirements and flat-front waveguide designs for easy baffle-wall installation. Models have been updated for 2022 with refined crossover systems for smoother, more balanced response; high-frequency driver protection circuitry; and conveniently oriented connectors for easy maintenance.

“When it comes to entertainment, nothing compares to magical night out at the movies,” said Roy Chen, JBL Professional Product Manager, Cinema Loudspeakers. “With more high-definition content being released and competition for the attention of moviegoers rising, cinemas are needing increasingly state-of-the-art technologies that deliver the brilliant visuals and three-dimensional sound that keep audiences coming back for more. Whether renovating or building a new theatre, we believe cinema owners will agree, these loudspeakers are incredible at delivering all of a film’s sonic nuances, from the softest whisper to the mightiest roar.”

The 3800 Series, aimed at 100- to 150-seat cinemas, includes the JBL-3822N Two-Way Passive ScreenArray Cinema Loudspeaker System, the JBL-3830 Three-Way Bi-Amplified/Passive ScreenArray Cinema Loudspeaker System and the JBL-3832 Three-Way Bi-Amplified ScreenArray Cinema Loudspeaker System. The 4800 Series, designed for 150- to 250-seat cinemas, includes the JBL-4822N Two-Way Passive ScreenArray Cinema Loudspeaker System and the JBL-4832 Three-Way Bi-Amplified ScreenArray Cinema Loudspeaker System.

Models can be combined with JBL Professional 3000 and 4000 Series loudspeakers and surrounds to tailor complete cinema sound systems for any small- to medium-size cinema.
