About Reel Cinemas: REEL Cinemas began in 2001 when property businessman Kailash Chander (K.C.) Suri took over the Loughborough Curzon, a run-down 6-screen venue, earmarked for a development project that would turn it into flats. But as he got to know the business, the staff and its customers, K.C. Suri started to fall in love with cinema.

REEL Cinemas is now the UK’s leading independent cinema chain with fifteen sites across England and Wales, ranging from classic 1930s art deco buildings to purpose built miniplexes. They bring cinema to the doorstep of many towns and underserved communities, normally seen as too small by other larger cinema chains.

The ongoing development of the REEL chain will see five new purpose-built venues opening from summer 2023 onwards. Each will include premium cinema-going brand the Reel Lounge and cements REEL Cinemas’ ambition to bring the luxury cinema experience to audiences in small towns, without the high admission price that usually accompanies it.
