Qube Cinema a success at the 65th Venice International Film Festival
Over 300 hours of content projected at the Palazzo del Cinema
Qube Cinema is pleased to announce that its partnership with the 65th Venice International Film Festival was an unqualified success. As the official digital cinema server and digital cinema mastering system supplier, Qube Cinema digitally equipped the five theaters at the Palazzo del Cinema during the festival. Qube engineers installed and provided a complete end-to-end solution, including 24-hour monitoring of all screens, incoming content QC and also digital cinema content mastering by Qube on-site.
Over 300 hours of digital cinema content was projected using the Qube XP-D digital cinema server including stereoscopic 3D content at the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) day at the event. Qube Cinema also mastered on-site, over 40 hours of content from a number of sources such as Digital Betacam, Betacam, HDCAM SR, DV and even DVD, using the powerful and flexible Qubemaster Pro application.
“Qube Team: Good work, good people, high quality results, 24/24!” said the extremely satisfied Technical Advisor of Venice International Film Festival, Angelo D'Alessio.
“Partnering with the Venice International Film Festival was certainly a great achievement for Qube Cinema and the organizers have been very pleased with their experience. We believe this is the highest percentage of digital cinema content projection of any major film festival so far, and that is certainly a feather in the cap,” said Nigel Dennis, Head-European Business Operations at Qube Cinema.
Also showcased at the film festival was QubeMaster Pro, the leading mastering solution in the Digital Cinema industry used by world renowned companies such as Technicolor, IMAX, Arts Alliance, Deluxe and ARRI, among others, for its versatility, flexibility and reliability.
