Deluxe(R) and Signiant Team to Deliver Avatar for a Same-Day International Release

Efficient Post-Production Collaboration Ensures Seamless and Simultaneous Delivery of Blockbuster Film Across the Globe
Deluxe Digital Studios, working closely with the FOX Theatrical International division to provide services for the international versioning of the movie Avatar, has credited Signiant® Inc.'s software for their ability to meet extremely tight deadlines leading up to Avatar's day and date international release on December 18, 2009.

Signiant, the leading developer of content supply chain management solutions, enabled Deluxe to collaborate and distribute globally to more than 18 locations through an efficient post-production process.

Deluxe leads the industry in digital cinema packages and creates content for audiences worldwide in DVD and Blu-ray releases while boasting the largest network of subtitle creation. The company has also received 10 Academy Awards for recognition of its technical excellence.

An international day and date release requires efficient and quick coordination. Working with Signiant, Deluxe quickly and securely coordinated dubbing reference materials for actors' lipsync dubbing work in 18 international languages. The same Signiant software also enabled immediate delivery of the completed dialogue tracks from across the globe for centralized mixing in Los Angeles and London.

"Signiant made one of our most difficult tasks easier – getting the content to the right place at the right time, enabling us to focus on other tasks on this very important project," said Ron Horwitz, vice president and general manager, Deluxe. "We could not hit these tight deadlines without Signiant. A typical dubbing reference package is roughly 10 GB. With Signiant, we were seeing speeds of less than thirty minutes around the world, which is huge – nobody else can touch that right now."
