Cinedigm Teams with SENSIO® to Bring FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament to Theatres Around the Globe in LIVE 3D

Cinedigm’s Design and SENSIO Technology to Provide First Ever Global LIVE 3D Sporting Events
Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp.(NASDAQ: CIDM), the global leader in digital cinema, today announced a unique partnership with SENSIO® to bring the first ever globally broadcasted LIVE 3D sporting event to theatres outside the United States.

To kick things off, the companies will use SENSIO’s technology and Cinedigm’s theatre technology design to bring select matches from this year’s FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament in LIVE 3D to hundreds of theatres around the world. Eight games starting with the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament will be broadcast in LIVE 3D thanks to Cinedigm’s extensive experience in bringing LIVE 3D sporting events to U.S. theatres through SENSIO® 3D format and CineLive™ technology.

Cinedigm’s LIVE 3D expertise in leveraging SENSIO® 3D format was recently recognized this Earth Day by the 3D visionary James Cameron when Cinedigm delivered a LIVE 3D feed of Mr. Cameron from Los Angeles to the Business for the Environment Summit at the Global Initiatives Conference in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday, April 22, 2010. In the U.S., Cinedigm used its 3D and digital cinema  expertise to launch the first ever commercially available LIVE 3D sporting event with the 2009 BCS Championship Game, followed by the 2009 NBA All-Star Saturday Night, and most recently the 2010 NCAA Men’s Final Four and Championship Games to digitally equipped theatres in its CineLive™ Network.

“Cinedigm’s experience in sophisticated digital broadcasting technologies has enabled the company to design a satellite network and broadcast techniques capable of providing LIVE 3D sporting events to theatres so clear and realistic most audiences forget they are watching events on the big screen and feel like they are actually at the events,” said B. Scott Cassell, V.P. Operations and Technology of Cinedigm’s Digital Media Services. “We are thrilled to partner with SENSIO to design the network that will enable this experience on a global scale and make the FIFA World Cup events the first ever sporting events to be brought in LIVE 3D to theatres worldwide.”

“When SENSIO confirmed it would bring the FIFA World Cup to theatres, our leadership knew that working with our trusted partner Cinedigm would help ensure success. Cinedigm’s proficiency in integrating satellite operations with theatres is head-and-shoulders beyond that of any other company. The demonstrated success with Cinedigm’s CineLive™ Certified design is exactly what SENSIO needs to ensure the same outcome for these events globally,” said Richard Laberge, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
