The Spanish cinema circuit OCINE, an important participant in the ACEC (Àrea Catalana d’Exhibició Cinematogràfica) programming group, and YMAGIS have concluded an agreement to deploy Digital Systems in all OCINE’s cinemas. OCINE has already deployed a number of systems in most of their cinemas and plans to continue this deployment, with views to complete the network’s digitization before the end of 2012.
OCINE’s cinemas were the first Spanish chain to deploy Digital Systems in all their sites and very early decided to incorporate this technology into their strategy. After having experienced all the advantages of this new technology, especially for the screenings of movies in 3D, Ocine proceeded to a careful evaluation of the various options available to complete in the future a full digitization of all its screens. After having completed this review, the OCINE group has decided to select YMAGIS to help implement this technological change to all its screens. With this decision, OCINE expects to go a step further and, benefiting from Ymagis’ technical support, to progress towards the full digitization of their Cinemas.
Esteve Agustí, OCINE’s CEO, said: “For OCINE the digitization of our circuit is one of the main challenges we have to face to continue with our committment to always offer the most current technology and the best possible quality. In YMAGIS we have found the best suited partner to meet our needs and the specifics of our circuit to achieve this objective. The flexibility, service and support offered by YMAGIS makes their proposal the best for our journey towards this new digital era.”
Manel Carreras, Sales and Business Development Director at Ymagis, said: “OCINE’s commitment to the industry and in particular to keeping their cinemas providing their customers with the best possible experience is the best response to the changes in the industry. We are delighted to become a close partner of OCINE to assist the group in the digitization of its screens. It is an important step for YMAGIS in the Spanish market and also for OCINE as the first independent cinema chain of its kind that publicly announces such determination”.
