DG2L wins Multi-Million dollar project for the deployment of DG2L Digital Cinema systems in 2000 theaters, the largest Digital Cinema deployment project to date worldwide.
DG2L Technologies today announces that it has been awarded the multi-million dollar contract for the world's largest digital cinema deployment, which encompasses 2000 theaters for UFO (United Film Organizers), a subsidiary of the Valuable Media Group.

"This is a great time for DG2L, we are proud to be the first to deploy such a large system, and to design, enable, and deploy the first all digital cinema content delivery network using the entire DG2L Digital Cinema platform." said A.K. Sheth, CEO of DG2L Technologies.

"This contract finally validates the convergence from legacy Film to Digital Cinema and the migration from physical delivery of content to digital content network delivery. It has transformed the industry from dreaming of future possibilities, to actual reality in a revenue generating deployment, today" said Sheth.

"Phase 1 installation of the first 500 of the 2,000 theater systems we purchased is actually going quite smoothly. It is very exciting to watch the world's first and largest digital cinema distribution theatre network system come on line. It has been great to work with DG2L on this project. Their project management and field engineering skills, have been great and have allowed the project to stay on schedule", said Sanjay Gaikwad, Executive Director and CEO of UFO (United Film Organisers).

"This entire system will save us millions on the distribution of movies to the Theaters, and give us the speed and flexibility to change content at a local theater, citywide theaters or regional theaters in a matter of minutes. This will allow UFO to maximize revenue based on the content and the reaction to the content from the viewers". Said Gaikwad

The improved DG2L Cinema System is an end-to-end solution from content creation, process, encryption & management, secure delivery, and finally secure playback at the Cinema theaters. DG2L Digital Cinema system delivers and playback near 2K resolutions, and eliminates the need of producing large number of prints and physically delivering them to the theaters. Content quality degradation over time due to wear & tear of prints is avoided and every movie retains the pristine original quality. DG2L's powerful Theatre Management System allows for scheduling of content distribution, management of content, show times and show packages, additional features include the ability to add local interest content.
