Doremi and XDC Extend Their Collaboration with a Business Agreement
Doremi Cinema has signed an agreement with XDC for the supply of its
digital cinema products and services. Under the agreement Doremi Cinema is to
provide support for XDC cinema customers equipped with
Doremi Cinema servers.
The agreement follows
many years of close cooperation between the companies during which Doremi
Cinema has supplied over 600 digital cinema servers, comprised of DCP-2000 and the IMB/ShowVault 2K/4K server
models. The digital cinema servers have been installed in
European countries including UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Austria.
The recent agreement secures Doremi Cinema’s provision of support for these
existing cinemas and will, where applicable, be extended to new installations.
“We are
delighted to be expanding our long-standing partnership with XDC,” comments
Patrick Zucchetta, CEO Doremi Cinema EMEA. “As Digital Cinema business plans
very often centre on the VPF (virtual print fee) model it is more important
than ever that the technical equipment complies with industry standards.
Moreover, the running of VPF model increasingly demands that the cinema
equipment has passed the CTP (DCI Compliance Test Plan). We deliver servers with CTP
certification and can ensure that level of continued performance for XDC.”
Serge Plasch CEO, XDC, adds, “We are very pleased to have the ongoing
full support of Doremi. With a large deployment of digital cinemas across
Europe depending on the VPF model its technology and assistance fulfills a
vital role for our rapidly expanding business.”
Doremi Cinema has its
world headquarters and production facilities in Burbank (USA), its European
headquarters and R&D in Sophia-Antipolis (France), a Japan office in Tokyo,
and two other R&D entities in Canada and EMEA. Its annual production
capacity of more than 20,000 cinema servers allows it to provide all its
customers around the world with short delivery times.
XDC is a one-stop
provider of digital cinema services. It provides end-to-end solutions
regarding all digital cinema services, from financial offer to deployment
(supply of digital cinema equipment of all brands), along with maintenance,
training, content and network services and alternative content.
Having signed VPF
contracts with the six major Hollywood studios, XDC can provide the VPF
(virtual print fee) financing model to exhibitors.
Since 2004, XDC has
managed the operations for the deployment of digital cinema systems into theatres,
offering a totally agnostic range of digital cinema equipment.
XDC’s affiliate
FTT accounts for over 50 years of experience in the field of supply and
integration of cinema technology and has actively supported the European cinema
business in its transition to digital.
