Santikos Theatres Outfits New Casa Blanca Theatre with Barco Laser Projection

Barco, the worldwide market share leader in digital cinema, is again the laser projector of choice for Santikos Theatres, which has selected the flagship model of Barco laser for the new Casa Blanca Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. As the first laser projector customer for Barco in North America, Santikos is expanding its laser footprint with Barco laser projection to significantly enhance movie image quality while reaping the rewards of improved operational efficiency

Last year, Santikos Theatres chose Barco’s laser flagship DP4K-60L projector for its 19-screen Palladium theater, the chain’s premier property in central Texas. Based on its overwhelmingly positive experience with Barco laser projection, Santikos decided to procure additional Barco laser flagship projectors for its newest cinema, destined to be a jewel in the community with its stunning architecture, in-seat dining and full service bar, and plush seating coupled with Santikos’ legendary guest service.

“Audience reaction to our first Barco laser projector showings at the Palladium was tremendous, affirming our confidence in their innovative technology as a real game-changer for premium cinema,” comments Art Seago, CEO of Santikos Theaters. “We are eager to expand our laser projection footprint with Barco in keeping with our desire to continually offer our customers the best movie presentation possible.”

Barco laser projection – perfect images, delivered efficiently
With the largest global footprint for laser projection, Barco is currently shipping the only fully integrated 6P solution in the industry, and just recently introduced a revolutionary fleet of laser projectors with the perfect match for every screen. The first DCI-compliant projector capable of showing 4K 2D content at 60 fps and 4K 3D at 30 fps, the Barco laser projector presents the brightest, highest quality images to deliver stunning audience experiences available only in theaters. It is also highly energy efficient (more brightness with no lamps), and features a single projector platform that easily and cost-effectively integrates into current systems for the ultimate in simplicity.

Barco laser projectors also embody the company’s latest Alchemy technology, featuring the Intelligent Projector concept. Barco Series 3 Alchemy projectors build upon the powerful engine developed for its Series 2 projectors, which comprise the majority of the installed base of digital cinema projectors worldwide.

Committed to presenting a premium a moviegoing experience
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Santikos Theatres as they continue to raise the bar for unique and diverse cinema entertainment. Our laser flagship projector family is the perfect complement to their upscale cinema concept, driving image quality to new heights for a one-of-a-kind moviegoing experience,” comments Stijn Henderickx, VP Digital Cinema for Barco.
