Senator films immediately available for Digital Cinema
From today, German indie Senator will also offer digital cinema copies of its
new films to all cinemas which are equipped with DLP Cinema® Projectors.
“Senator is thereby the first German film distributor,” said Senator’s Managing
Director Benjamin Herrmann, “to offer its complete slate of movies for digital
projection.”
Senator and its distribution subsidiary Central Film are working together with
XDC one of the leading pioneers in European digital cinema. XDC has financed
digital projectors and CineStore™ servers, which embrace the highest industry
standards for many cinemas – over 60 in the German speaking area alone.
“We know that digital exhibition attracts movie goers and thus leads to higher
income at the box office,” said Sven Andresen, Head of Distribution at Central
Film. Digital Cinema offers excellent picture quality, which stays absolutely
faithful and constant from the first press screening to the very last show in
the run.
“As I have spent the majority of my professional life in Germany,” expands John
B. Birchell Hughes, XDC's Senior Vice President for Production and Distributor
Relations, “it gives me particular pleasure that Senator and Central have chosen
XDC as their partner for the mastering, encoding and duplication of their
digital cinema copies.”
The first Senator films, for which XDC will master the digital copies are:
ROHTENBURG with Thomas Kretschmann, REINE FORMSACHE with Christiane Paul und
Bastian Pastewka, the animated sequel DAS KLEINE ARSCHLOCH UND DER ALTE SACK and
SPECIAL with Til Schweiger.
