Ymagis Group Expands Eclair’s Dubbing Business in Spain with Addition of Tecnison

Ymagis Group (ISIN: FR0011471291 TICKER: MAGIS - PEA-PME eligible), the European specialist in digital technologies for the cinema industry, today announced the acquisition of Madrid-based Tecnison SA, one of Spain’s leading dubbing services companies for cinema, television and multimedia. Under the terms of the agreement, Ymagis Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Ymagis Spain SLU, becomes the sole shareholder of Tecnison SA.
 
“Tecnison is a well-known and respected Spanish services company that has been active in the business since 1974, working with all major Hollywood studios and independent companies. Today’s successful conclusion of this agreement marks a new milestone in growing our presence in Spain,” said Jean Mizrahi, President and CEO of Ymagis Group. “With Tecnison, we are strengthening Eclair’s versioning & accessibility division, which is instrumental in executing our strategic objective of enhancing our market position in Spain. This operation allows us to not only to enlarge our scope of activities but also improve profitability in that region.”

Angel Martin will oversee operations alongside current Managing Director Ana Arbona.
 
Tecnison is a market leader in dubbing services for cinema and television, including localization, subtitling and mixing services (5.1, 7.1 and Dolby® Atmos). The company was founded in 1974 by Jose Luis Arbona and has been managed by his daughter, Ana Arbona, for these past ten years. In 2008, Tecnison completely renovated its facilities, which led in 2015 to the creation of a new mixing room equipped with Dolby® Atmos sound technology with Dolby certification.
 
In 2015, Tecnison recorded revenue of EUR 4.3 million (+26.5% over the prior year). Tecnison’s 42 full-time employees have now become part of the Ymagis Group.
 
Ymagis Group operates two business units in Spain: Eclair in Barcelona (Content Services - Postproduction and Theatrical Delivery operating the largest network of connected cinemas in Spain and Portugal) and Proyecson/CinemaNext in Valencia (Exhibitor Services).
