XDC provides digital cinema projection system to HoverlorD company
The postproduction house becomes one of the most powerful colour grading facility in Europe
XDC has just provided HoverlorD post-prod house with one Barco DP-90 2K DLP Cinema® projector, offering one of the most powerful colour grading facility in Europe. Indeed, thanks to this High Definition (HD) digital projection system, HoverlorD becomes one of the very few European post-house able to perform HD captures and to process the image quality up to the screening with a projector similar to those installed into the digital cinema equipped theatres.
“In association with Lustre, a colour grading system allowing also the 2K-4K formatting, HoverlorD is actually the most advanced facility in Belgium and one of the leading post-houses in Europe” says Louis-Philippe Capelle, HoverlorD CEO, who continues: “We work closely with filmmakers and photography directors in order to have the assurance of a perfect matching between what is screened during postproduction and what will be watched by the moviegoers when the film is digitally distributed”.
In the coming weeks, 3 full-length feature French-speaking Belgian films will benefit from this outstanding facility: Sur le mont Josaphat (2006), directed by Jean Marc Vervoort, produced by Bruxelles-Midi films, photography by Louis-Philippe Capelle (HDCam camera, Zeiss Digiprimes); Gangsterminus (2006), directed by Bernard Declercq and Thomas François, produced by Entre Chien et Loup, photography by Rémon Fromont (HDCam camera, Fujinon Cinestyle lenses) ; Les Fourmis Rouges, directed by Stéphane Carpiaux, produced by Banana films, photography by Philippe Guilbert (HDCam camera, Zeiss Digiprimes).
For these 3 films, HoverlorD will produce the Digital Intermediate on Lustre and will manage the full image postproduction.
“We are very happy of the partnership with HoverlorD. Thanks to their unique expertise in colour grading technology, associated with the technical experience of XDC both in content preparation and projection systems, the European producers and distributors, who are willing to distribute their movies digitally, can have the assurance of a high quality final result on the screen.” concludes Laurent Minguet, XDC CEO.
