Projectors By Digital Projection International Chosen - Again - This Time By Dolby Laboratories

Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer has chosen its iS10 DLP Cinema™ projection system for use in its screening/ presentation room. DPI also announced that Dolby has committed to a purchase of an integrated 2K x 1K resolution DLP Cinema™ projector for delivery after the first of the year.

Along with the iS10, Dolby's screening room is equipped with a 26-foot by 12-foot screen as well as the most advanced postproduction equipment. The facility is located in Dolby's offices in Burbank, CA.

According to David Gray, Dolby Laboratories' Vice President, Production Services Group, Dolby started their digital cinema mastering business earlier this year and has already completed masters of both international and domestic films. Dolby's screening room, complete with DPI's integrated iS10 projector, will expand its offerings by enabling them to provide end-to-end digital services to its broad base of clients.

"We chose the iS10 projector because of its ease-of-operation, size, portability and functionality of its multimedia switcher, the MMS 1000", said Gray. "We've also found Digital Projection International to be very professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process, and that has meant a great deal to us."

Dolby's integration of the iS10 has further solidified DPI's reputation for providing Hollywood studios, premier post-production companies and screening rooms with high-performance digital projection solutions. Very recently, Post Logic Studios has also chosen an iS10 projector by DPI for use in their new mastering suite. DPI was the first to introduce DLP™ technology to Hollywood in 1996 and has worked closely with industry professionals ever since.

"Dolby is one of the most respected and admired companies in entertainment", said Peter Nicholas, Digital Projection's Director of Cinema Sales and Marketing in the Americas. "It's a distinct honour for our company to provide our high-performance iS10 for use in their new business venture and to be maintaining a close relation with this company."

"Our recent work with Post Logic Studios in addition to Dolby", continued Nicholas, "stresses our commitment to the digital cinema industry and emphasizes our goal of helping to create the world's most engaging cinematic experiences."
