The Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation, Inc. promotes interactive dialogue and information exchange between cinema-related entities with the goal of resolving issues affecting the overall cinema presentation. Founded in 1978 by Eastman Kodak VP Ken Mason, membership is composed of its four charter trade organizations - International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) - along with over 40 member companies, made up of trade organizations, motion picture studios, exhibition companies, manufacturers, technical consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
 




The EDCF is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation that aims to act as a "Forum" to discuss key issues surrounding Digital Cinema in Europe. The purpose of EDCF is to provide a basis of common understanding across all European territories of the business and technical matters of digital cinema. 



The International Cinema Technology Association is a global network of professionals in the motion picture industry. XDC a Beating Heart of Major Events at the 60th Locarno Film Festival

Opening night: Worldwide Premiere of Vexille
On August 1st, as the Digital Cinema Official Partner of the Locarno Film Festival, XDC supported the worldwide premiere high definition projection of Vexille. After the official opening ceremony, Locarno 10,000 moviegoers, on Piazza Grande, warmed up with the high definition screening of Vexille CGA (Computer Graphic Animation) Japanese film by Fumihiko Sori. Thanks to the amazing digital cinema technology provided by XDC, the audience experienced a pure magic moment.

On August 10th, another major event will be the JPEG2000 digital projection of Hairspray, the last New Line Cinema production.

For this 60th edition, Locarno Festival is innovating with the projection on the Piazza Grande of Hairspray, a film by Adam Shankman, the last New Line Cinema production distributed in Switzerland by Warner Bros. Indeed, the movie will be digitally screened by using the most advanced digital cinema DCI1 compliant technologies. As the Digital Cinema Official Partner, XDC is providing all of the necessary projection equipment and technical support. No doubt that the 10,000 moviegoers will enjoy this unique screening.
